Must Read

The State and Other Employees Federation (SOEF) president Radhakrishna Sadien believes that when the Wage Assistance Scheme and Self-Employed Assistance Scheme will come to an end soon, the impact of Covid-19 will be even greater in the sector of employment. He thus invites the companies which continue to make substantial profits to put the hand in their pocket for people in difficulties. For him, the institutions which will be able to continue to contribute to these two funds are the insurance companies and the banking institutions which makes huge profits on the bank charges and the interest rate on the loans.

In a  press conference on Thursday, the chairman fo the SOEF,Radhakrishna Sadien said the flourishing companies which must contribute to the economic development of the country through financial contributions because the government will not be able to continue forever with these two plans with the opening of the borders.

The trade unionist finds that the public health sector has been somewhat neglected in the 2021-2022 budget, especially with regard to the hiring of para-medical personnel. He points out that there is an acute shortage of Health Rehabilitation Officers in public health services. This budget has made provision for around 40 staff at this level, whereas the number previously stood at 180.

Regarding the publication of the Pay Research Bureau (PRB) report this year, he is of the opinion that the government must now give an indication when this report will be published and when will it be implemented. . He maintained that this report should be applied retroactively from January 2020.

The SOEF president says he regrets that the middle class will continue to suffer with the decision to increase the liter of gasoline and diesel by Rs 2. This decision will lead in its wake to an escalation of price . He says he regrets that the government has not yet come forward with a price control system.
