A week after winning the bronze medal in the elite category at the African Sprint Triathlon Championships in Blue Bay, the strong man of Mauritian triathlon added an important gold medal to his list of achievements.
Indeed, Laurent L’Entêté’s victory on Saturday in Mon Choisy at the Zone 2 African Championships in the sprint format will earn him points in his quest to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The race saw a clear domination by the Mauritians, with Rémy Gérard and Adrien Toulet completing the podium. Rémy Gérard had won the bronze medal in the U23 category at Blue bay on September 9.
In the women’s event, Mauritian Julie Staub also won easily, and will thus gain important points with a view to the 2024 Olympic Games.
