On July 24th 2019, the country was clamoring the name of Samuel Vielleuse. Indeed, Samuel has made history by winning in the 800m for the men’s category. It was the first time that Mauritius was able to win the most precious medal in this event since the creation of the Islands Games (JIOI).
That day, Samuel Vielleuse was not in the lead of the race from the start but the Mauritian fought with all his strength to win in the last ten meters. Following which, the Mauritian public exploded with joy.
« Without the support of the public, I would not be here », he said to sum up his incredible race in a few words.
Today, he has other ambitions, especially to conquer Africa. To do this, this champion must first find a sponsor, and a company so that he can have a stable job, which would also allow him the time to train. We try to be a channel through which he can find a company to help him.
