At a press conference, Rama Valayden commented at length the resignation of Rajanah Dhaliah as PPS. The latter was finally arrested and provisionally charged by ICAC. However, for Rama Valayden, Rajanah Dhaliah is merely a scapegoat in this case. He maintains that it is Maneesh Gobin who is directly targeted by the statements made to the Icac. Rama Valayden pointed out that Rajanah Dhaliah is not able to allocate leases. In his view, the main culprit in the case is the Attorney General.

A desperate act from a weakened government! This is what Nando Bodha thinks of the Cabinet reshuffle. He was speaking to the press this afternoon alongside Rama Valayden. The leaders of Rassemblement Mauricien commented at length on the various political events which took place this week, one of them being the Cabinet reshuffle. For Nando Bodha, it is an act of desperation from a weakened government. He describes the exercise as a “flop”. He believes that the Prime Minister is desperate. This leads him to say that a general election is just around the corner.
