The provisional charge of conspiracy against Adrien Duval was struck out this morning in the Rose-Hill court. In September 2022, Adrien Duval’s car violently crashed into another car, injuring the driver. The former MP initially denied that he was behind the wheel. He later retracted his statement.
He was charged provisionally for various charges, including conspiracy. It is this last charge that was struck out. However, Adrien Duval is still facing a provisional charge of refusing to take a breathalyser test. This case will be called on November 22, 2023 in Rose-Hill court. “Justice has prevailed. I am relieved,” reacted the former MP.
Adrien Duval is still facing four charges in the context of the same accident. He is accused of refusing to submit to a breathalyzer test and a urine test, of inflicting “involuntary wounds and blows by imprudence” on the driver of the car that crashed, of refusing to provide a “specimen of breath”, and of driving a car with a concentration of alcohol in the blood that is higher than the authorized level. The driver of the car accident, Sajeeda Joomun, was represented by lawyer Roubina Jaddoo, a former minister in the MSM government.
