The Metro line connecting Curepipe to Port-Louis will be operational starting this Monday, October 10. There will be a streetcar every 10 minutes and service will begin at 6 a.m. from Curepipe Central to Port Louis and another streetcar will run from Port Louis to Curepipe at the same time. The hours of operation of the Metro Express on this line have been initially set from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day with 7 operational stations on this stretch. They are: Phoenix Mall Station, Palmerston Station, Vacoas Central, Sadally Station, Floreal Station, Curepipe North Station and Curepipe Central.
The official launch will take place this Sunday, in the presence of the Prime Minister and members of the government, as was the case for the launch of the previous phases, namely the Rose-Hill-Quatre Bornes service on Sunday, June 20, 2021 and that of Quatre-Bornes to Phoenix on May 8, 2022. The trial run to Curepipe took approximately two months.
