Mauritius Turf Club officials are meeting this Friday, October 15, to decide whether to stop or continue the 2021 horse racing season. According to the club, holding races behind closed doors is unsustainable financially. It wants horse racing activities to resume normally and a number of people, though limited, to be allowed to go to the races. Actually, the Mauritius Turf Club Sports and Leisure, a subsidiary of the MTC, the organizer of horse-racing, is running at a loss. The horse racing season 2021 may end this month.
A loss of about Rs 46 million is being mentioned for MTCSL.
