Sir Kailash Ramdanee’s funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon at his home on the corner of Rue Guiot-Pascau and Rue Queen Mary in Floréal.
Earlier, friends, family and celebrities came to pay their last respects. Ilsi spoke of him as an entrepreneur and innovator who contributed massively to the entrepreneurial and financial sectors. He was Chairman of Mauritius Telecom in 1992, when the Telecom Tower was built.
Sir Kailash Ramdanee, father of Kobita Jugnauth and father-in-law of Pravind Jugnauth, died on Monday night at around 10.40pm after a long illness. He was 96 years old.
In a message on his Facebook page, Pravind Jugnauth wrote: C’est ene grand homme ki fine aller. My wife and I and my fellow fans are deeply saddened by the passing of Sir Kailash. He made a great contribution to our country, but above all he was an exemplary and loving father who made great sacrifices for his family and was a great gentleman in every way.
