Although he has not yet been arrested in connection with the Constituency Clerk affair, Yogida Sawmynaden will face trial in the Port-Louis court. The Director of Public Prosecutions has brought two formal charges against the former minister. The MP for constituency number 8 will be prosecuted for falsification of documents and forgery. The office of the Director of Public Prosecutions laid the two formal charges in court on Friday. The case will be called on August 7. Simla Kistnen alleges that the former minister registered her as his Constituency Clerk without her knowledge. What’s more, she was never paid for this work. The problem is that she did not benefit from the Self Employed Assistance Scheme because officially she was Yogida Sawmynaden’s Constituency Clerk.
