The case of Constituency Clerk against former minister Yogida Sawminaden was called, on the merits, in the intermediate court this morning. However, given that some witnesses were not present, the case has been adjourned to February 21 and 23. Two provisional charges have been brought against the former Minister of Commerce, namely “forgery in a private writing” and “making use of a forged private writing”. The former minister has pleaded not guilty to the charges. Simla Kistnen, widow of former MSM chief agent Soopramanien Kistnen, accuses Yogida Sawminaden of having registered her as his Constituency Clerk without her knowledge. This is a position she claims she has never held, and has never been paid for.
