Mauritians Prathna Jalim and Oumi Hosenally won the bronze medal in the women’s doubles tournament at the African Senior Championships in Tunisia.
Their route to the bronze medal was made possible by a 3-1 victory over a Ghanaian pair in the round of 16. In the quarter-finals, the Mauritians defeated the Ugandans 3-0. Jalim and Hosenally unfortunately lost 3-0 to a Nigerian pair.
At these African senior championships, the Mauritian women’s team validated its ticket for the world table tennis championships to be held in South Korea in May 2024 thanks to its fifth-place finish in the women’s team tournament.
