Suren Dayal’s Election Petition: Oral Arguments Start On 1st September

Final stretch in Suren Dayal election petition case! It’s time for oral arguments. This stage, which is normally the last one in a court case, will take place on 1st September. In his election petition, Suren Dayal is calling for the invalidation of the election of Pravind Jugnauth and the other two elected members of No 8. The lawyers for all parties have already filed their arguments in writing. The hearings of the witnesses in this case had ended on 28 July with the testimony of Rudy Veeramundar, Director of the Government Information Service, and Ken Arian, Senior Advisor in the Prime Minister’s Office.
