Club M will play this Sunday at 5 pm in Côte d’Or with the support of its public the first leg of the preliminary round of the African Nations Championship 2023 against Angola. For this game the interim national coach, Jerome Thomas has bet on youth and decided not to select Kevin Perticots and Kevin Jean-Louis.
A reshuffled selection, just like its composition during the preliminary round of the COSAFA Cup 2022. Jerome Thomas and co. have taken the risk to do so for their double confrontation against Angola with the return match scheduled for July 30. Angola is a very well known opponent of Club M with a dozen meetings played between these two teams.
Mauritius has beaten Angola on two occasions by the score of 2-0 in 1999 and 2016 and recorded a draw while Angola has taken the measure of Mauritius in seven occasions.
After the three defeats suffered by Mauritius in the preliminary round of the COSAFA Cup 2022 in South Africa in early July, Club M played a friendly match against Seychelles last Tuesday with a 2-0 victory over the dallons.
