To reverse the unemployment curve, the authorities through the MITD have launched a training program for 3000 people. Training that affects several areas and was announced in the last budget with an overall budget of 10 million for this fiscal year.
Several courses are offered in a formula of alternation, with placement in companies, in various sectors such as tourism, hospitality, construction, computer science, engineering, textiles, painting, mechanics and agriculture.
This training which is launched by MITD and benefits 3000 unemployed people falls under the National Training and Reskilling Scheme. It was announced in the budget and will be free of charge.
Several sectors have been identified by the MITD for a training period that varies from three months to one year.
Sadhna Juwaheer, the public relations officer of MITD, reveals that the institution has increased the number of seats from 2,000 in 2018 to 3,000 this year. “We can accommodate more than 3,000 students in case of an increase in demand in certain streams,” she explains.
At the end of the training, a certificate will be given to candidates. This document is essential to facilitate their hiring by companies.
