Admission is free to the public from 9 am to 4 pm.
Paintings, installations and other original works currently line the courtyard of the Port Louis Museum. Since 7 October, the place has been transformed into an open-air art gallery.
Twelve artists are participating in this exhibition, namely Nitish Chendrapaty Appadoo, Sabeer Bahadoor, Avilla Damar, KMVH, Nirmal Hurry, Michael Lalljee, Krishna Luchoomun, Sanjiven Marday, Rameshwaram Rughoobur, Pamela Sunee and Rishi Seeruttun.
Rishi Seeruttun feels that the initiative is very commendable especially with the Covid-19 pandemic: “As artists, we need visibility. Because of the pandemic for months, we have not been able to hold exhibitions. This is a great opportunity that the National Art Gallery and its other partners are giving us. I hope there will be many more in the future so that we can show our know-how to the Mauritians,” explains Rishi – a painter.
It should be noted that the public will also be able to admire a family of dodo in augmented reality on site.
