This Wednesday, February 1st, which marks the 188th anniversary of the Abolition of Slavery, the leaders of the PTr, MMM and PMSD will be together in Pointe-Canon for a wreath-laying ceremony as announced by Navin Ramgoolam on Tuesday following his meeting with Paul Bérenger and Xavier-Luc Duval.
Dr. Ramgoolam also confirmed that the discussions, in view of an alliance, have continued and mentioned several other issues. He criticized the government for its blatant “incompetence” in managing the floods. Navin Ramgoolam has made a violent outburst against Maneesh Gobin after the latter’s comments on the Saint-Brandon Archipelagos. “Obviously, he doesn’t know what he’s saying,” said the PTr leader.
In response to a press inquiry, the leader of the Labour Party (PTr) commented Nando Bodha’s statement once more. For him: If he believes that he can become Prime Minister, and that he will win the elections, that is his right, he can try”. Navin Ramgoolam maintained having no problem working with him.
Navin Ramgoolam also responded to comments about the election program. “Everyone has his own idea. Discussions on the electoral program have started and a next meeting is scheduled for next week” he said.
