To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the death of Anjalay Coopen, members of the Labour Party laid a wreath this afternoon at her stele in the Children’s Court in Port Louis. The leader of the Reds then made a statement to the press. He spoke of Anjalay Coopen’s struggle and death. He said he was proud to have changed the name of the Sir Anerood Jugnauth Stadium in Belle Vue Harel to the Stade Anjalay when he was Prime Minister. For him, Anjalay Coopen was a true hero.
The leader of the Labour Party returned to the subject of the meeting held in Flacq on 22 September. Navin Ramgoolam expressed his satisfaction with the attendance.
Navin Ramgoolam also indicated that the MMM has taken up the fight from the PTr, so it is natural, according to him, for the two parties to work together. He added that the PMSD was initially against the PTr before joining forces with the Reds for the development of the country. Navin Ramgoolam also said that some extra-parliamentary parties have somewhat similar objectives. Hence the fact that he is comfortable with Rezistans ek Alternativ.
