Prince Harry Barred From Wearing Military Uniform Despite Serving In Afghanistan

Must Read

It seems that Prince Harry will not be able to wear his military uniform due to him being stripped of his honorary titles. And this despite the Duke of Sussex twice serving in Afghanistan. Harry lost his titles after he and Meghan Markle announced in March last year they were abandoning their lives as senior royals to shape their own path abroad.

The Prince is said to have asked the Queen about the possibility of keeping his titles, in what was described as a half-in-half-out role. But such a plan was vetoed and the title was taken back, along with his role as Honorary Air Commandant of RAF Honington in Suffolk and Commodore-in-Chief Small Ships and Diving, Royal Naval Command. Harry had also wanted to maintain the title of Captain-General of the Royal Marines but was unable to do so.

They now live in a multi-million dollar mansion in Montecito, in California’s Santa Barbara, with their kids Archie and Lilibet.

It means that he will have to wear plain clothes as he hands out awards at The Salute to Freedom gala on November 10.

He will, however, be able to pin his four medals on his suit to mark the special occasion.

The event will pay tribute to “those who have served in the US forces, defending America, with the awards honouring those who have “demonstrated courage and perseverance in the face of great danger or personal struggle”.
