The Prime Minister, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, met, today at the New Treasury Building in Port Louis, pilgrims who were injured following an incident at Mare Longue during the last Maha Shivaratree festival.
A delegation of 14 persons, comprising pilgrims and their relatives, thus had the opportunity to discuss with Prime Minister Jugnauth and explain the difficulties they are currently facing.
In a statement, they highlighted that the meeting with the Prime Minister were cordial and fruitful. Matters discussed focused, among others, on: transport facilities to be provided to those injured so that they receive their treatment at the hospital more easily; and on support from the Ministry of Social Integration, Social Security and National Solidarity.
According to them, Prime Minister Jugnauth reassured that Government will, as far as possible, provide necessary assistance so as to ease recovery of the injured citizens.
