The MSM held its political bureau this Saturday morning. Afterward, the leader, Pravind Jugnauth , held a press briefing. He was questioned on the Private Prosecution initiated by Suren Dayal against him. “We will see how some institutions will act in relation to Private Prosecution,” he replied. To whom was he referring? He added that he didn’t want to comment on court cases.
The Prime Minister also announced that the MSM political bureau has ratified the application of Salim Abass Mamode to join the MSM. He said that the former PMSD member had had the opportunity to see the difference between the opposition and the government. He also said that other politicians have asked to join the MSM.
Referring to Gayatree Dayal’s departure from the MMM, he said that “it’s a downfall” for the Mauves.
On the removal of Mauritius from the Financial Action Task Force’s grey list, he explained that the government would now have the opportunity to develop the financial services sector. Especially after all that the country suffered during the pandemic. He recalled that the government had the ambition to make Mauritius a true financial center.
