The list of the decorated of the Republic 2023 was returned this Sunday. Alan Ganoo was awarded the title of Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean (GCSK). A distinction also awarded posthumously to the artist Vaco Baissac who just left us.
At the level of Grand Officer of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean, we find Dr. Sarita Boodhoo for the promotion of the Bhojpuri culture and language. Professor Vinesh Hookoomsingh- Contribution in the field of Education; Ambassador Chandun Jankee,-Higher Education and Diplomacy; President of the Regional Assembly of Rodrigues, Christian Leopold-social and political; Judge Nalini Matadeen-legal and or lawyer Premila Patten-promotion of human rights at the regional and international level, were also recognized and Ramdewar Gunness, of the legal profession OSK.
Trade unionists Haniff Peerun and Vinod Seegum became Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean (CSK). A poignant tribute was also paid to the late Jean Daniel André for his exemplary contribution in the field of sports.
On the occasion of the National Day 2023 and on the advice of the Prime Minister, Pravind Jugnauth, the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Pradeep Roopun, awards the following decorations:
