The Prime Minister’s message was read in every school this morning by the guest of honour at a flag-raising ceremony. This year marks the 56th anniversary of the country’s independence and the 32nd anniversary of its becoming a Republic, Mrs Leela Devi DOOKUN-LUCHOOMUN, GCSK, Vice-Prime Minister. Minister of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology was at SVR Pri,ary School in Sodnac yesterday morning as chief guest, she also read the Prime Minister message.
In his message, the Prime Minister tells students that the National Day celebrations are an opportunity to renew our love and attachment for our homeland.
He stresses that we have every reason to be proud when the flag flies with its four colours and when we hear the national anthem ring out.
Pravind Jugnauth points out that he is committed to young people.
In his message, the Prime Minister also emphasised the importance of education which forges the adult of tomorrow and enables people to take full advantage of the opportunities available to them.
