The union negotiator wants an improvement in the pensions benefit system. Jack Bizlall faced the press on Monday at the office of the Federation of Progressive Union. He announced a collective awareness meeting on 01 February at the Plaza, Rose-Hill. He added that each worker in this country is invited. However, he expects those affiliated with the FPU to be passively present. He said that the pension fund of many categories of workers have been dilapidated or are simply empty. This situation arises because many employers have changed their contribution scheme linked to retirement. This means, according to Jack Bizlall, that in the future, some workers will go on retirement without a pension. The union negotiator said that he has requested a meeting with the finance minister and is now awaiting a reply.
Jack Bizlall also commented on the rising cost of living, He said his intention was to set up his own association to fight for the rights of consumers. For him, inflation is not a battle of demands, but a battle of consumer advocacy.
