Our compatriots, Noemi Alphonse and Anaïs Angéline, both took the seventh place in their respective events, this Sunday 29 August during the finals of the Tokyo Paralympic Games.
Noemi Alphonse, who was competing in the 800m (T54) final, finished in 7th place with a time of 1:53.30. The event was won by Manuela Schaer in 1:42″81, setting a new Paralympic record.
For the record, Noemi Alphonse improved the African record earlier with a time of 1:52″27. Her next race will be the 1500m (T54) on Monday 30 August.
For her part, Anaïs Angéline also took 7th place in the T37 long jump competition with a jump of 4m07. The gold medal was won by Xiaoyan Wen from China with 5m13.
Anaïs Angéline will be back in action on Wednesday 1 September for the 100m heats (T37).
