Suspected of being involved in drug trafficking. A raid by the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (Adsu) of Port-Mathurin was carried out at the home of a painter in Eau-Vannee, Rodrigues on Wednesday morning, January 11. The information from Adsu was confirmed, the suspect Jocelin Parmasse, alias Natty, 27 years old was found in possession of a certain quantity of cannabis, an improvised pipe and eighteen cannabis plants were cultivated in his yard.
It was around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 11, that the police officers of Adsu searched the house of Jocelin Parmasse. A search of his person yielded nothing. The police then searched his house. They found eight cannabis plants measuring between thirty and fifty-five centimeters. Right next to it these policemen found a certain quantity of cannabis that is 8.53 grams and an improvised pipe with a stick of papaya on which was fixed a metal stopper. This improvised pipe is suspected to have been used to smoke cannabis. Five small plastic bags and a pulse sealer.
At the back of his yard, six cannabis plants measuring between eight and fifteen centimeters were found, as well as three stems of this plant. In front of his yard these police officers came across four other plants.
Jocelin Parmasse was arrested on a provisional charge of drug trafficking and even cultivation of cannabis. He was presented before the court of Port-Mathurin the same day before being returned to his cell at the prison of Pointe Laguelle.
