The 95th annual Academy Awards, popularly known as Oscars, saw foreign films and artists winning big on Sunday night at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
The German-language war epic All Quiet on the Western Front and the multiverse action-comedy Everything Everywhere All at Once won the most awards and were the highlight of the night. Everything Everywhere…won seven awards, while All Quiet…won four awards. The latter is an adaptation of a 1929 anti-war novel.
The night was special in one more sense, a big number of Asian artists were nominated in performance categories. One of them was 60-year-old Michelle Yeoh, its first Asian best actress. His co-star in Everything Everywhere All at Once, Ke Huy Quan won the best supporting actor award.
It was also a special night for India which made history by winning in two categories. One of them being winning best original song which “Naatu Naatu” song from RRR took away home.
