It has been one year since the death of Soopramanien Kistnen, under circumstances described as suspicious by some. The lawyers known as the Avengers are organizing a symbolic protest march this Saturday, October 16, starting in Port-Louis in front of the National Assembly. Soopramanien Kistnen, as a reminder, is a former member of the MSM. The march to commemorate this death is planned will be from the office of lawyer Sajiv Teeluckdharry and the parliament.
His partially burned body was found in a cane field in Telfair. The police had officially, at the beginning attributed his death as a suicide.
However, the lawyers known by the Avengers had conducted their own investigations. This led to a judicial inquiry from December 2020 to July 2021. After several bounces and revelations, some believe that the former MSM agent was murdered.
According to some the judicial investigation, it was shown that Soopramanien Kistnen was murdered, but also that he would have threatened to make public the many schemes including the purchase of medical products via emergency procedures because of Covid-19.
The lawyers therefore organised this march. The day before, a wreath-laying ceremony was organized in Telfair. Members of the Plateforme de l’Espoir were present at this ceremony.
A stele of Soopramanien Kistnen was even unveiled at the traffic roundabout of Telfair.
