A new private clinic will soon be opened in Moka. The initiative belongs to ‘RGT Health Care Ltd’. The new clinic will be located in block A of the Royal Green complex. It will have 37 beds and 4 additional beds in a ‘one day ward’.
The new clinic will have the following facilities: Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Plastic/Oral Surgery, Urology, Gynaecology, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Oncology and Chemotherapy, Geriatrics/Palliative, Radiology (X-ray and Ultrasound), Endoscopy and a Pharmacy. It will also have ambulance services.
In its application to the Ministry of the Environment for an EIA certificate, the promoter points out that the country has experienced unprecedented development over the last ten years. This has resulted in a rising standard of living and Mauritian families are increasingly seeking better health care beyond the public health system.
The objective of the medical clinic project is to provide a high level of health care services to the residents of the Royal Green Complex and to those who work and live in the central part of the island. If all goes according to plan, the new clinic will be operational by February 2022. The developer expects to employ approximately 70 people. The new clinic will be located close to the Wellkin Hospital.
