A collision between a car and a motorcycle at the junction of Route Saint Paul, Phoenix and Ligne Berthaud, Vacoas left one man seriously injured on Friday afternoon, October 6. The motorcyclist, aged 26 and living in Hollyrood N0 1, Vacoas, was admitted to the intensive care unit of the Fortis Darné clinic, Floréal. His condition is quite serious.
The accident occurred at around 2pm. A blue Toyota Vitz collided with a black Honda motorcycle. The car was driven by a 74-year-old man. The Vacoas resident was accompanied by his wife. His wife, slightly injured, was taken by police officers to Victoria Hospital, Candos, for treatment. She was later able to return home.
The motorcyclist was initially rushed to Candos hospital in a Service d’Aide Médicale d’Urgence ambulance, before being transferred to the Clinique Darné.
Both vehicles, which were seriously damaged, were towed to the Vacoas police station. Both men were subjected to an alcohol test, which proved negative.
