The final of the 53ᵉ edition of Miss Mauritius will be held on November 24 at the Indira Gandhi Centre for Indian Culture – Phoenix. This year, the organizing committee has chosen to innovate by also organizing Miss Diaspora, whose final will take place on the same date.

For Primerose Obeegadoo, president of the Miss Mauritius organization, this 53ᵉ edition is shaping up to be another grand affair. And with good reason: this year, the Miss Mauritius election will be held simultaneously with that of Miss Diaspora: “I’ve been working on this project for two years now. But before we could make it a reality, we had to protect the name both nationally and internationally. Now that everything is in order. The competition can now begin. For this first edition, we have selected 8 girls of Mauritian origin. They come mainly from Europe. There are ten candidates competing for the title of Miss Mauritius this year. Note that the Miss Diaspora can also win the Miss Mauritius competition,” explains Primerose Obeegadoo.
