The 5th edition of the Miss Franco-Mauritius contest gave its verdict on November 14, 2021 at the MAS – Paris. The new ambassador of Mauritius in France is named Kristy Marday. She now wishes to participate in the Miss Mauritius contest.
She still can’t believe it. And yet, she is the one who succeeds Zina Peerally in the Miss Franco-Mauritius contest.
Working in administration and events, the 24 year old presented herself to the contest to gain more confidence in herself: “The contest was a springboard for me to have more confidence in myself. In the end, I actually achieved my goal because I am now much more confident.”
Kristy also has fond memories of her time at the competition: “There was a great sense of camaraderie among the candidates. There was no competition. It was much more about having fun.”
Fluent in Creole and holding dual nationality, the young woman wants to try her luck at the Miss Mauritius contest: “I want to live this experience as soon as the opportunity arises. For now, I am waiting for things to settle down with Covid-19 so that I can promote Mauritius in official functions in France.”
