Michael Keaton Return As The Batman In New Trailer For DC’s “The Flash”

Must Read

Warner Bros. released a sneak peek of the long-delayed “The Flash” movie starring Ezra Miller, after numerous controversies, which teased Michael Keaton’s return as Batman.

After Flash’s first cameo role in 2016’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”, Miller will appear as the Scarlet Speedster for a solo movie this time. On February 10, the movie’s latest poster teased Keaton’s return as Batman.

In the trailer, Miller’s Barry Allen is seen entering the multiverse and, encountering other versions of himself, but also runs into two Batmen, played by Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton. The trailer also shows the return of Michael Shannon as General Zod from “Man of Steel” as well as Sasha Calle’s debut as Supergirl.

The rest of the cast includes Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Saoirse Monica Jackson, Antje Traue and Maribel Verdu.

The official synopsis from Warner Bros. says, “Worlds collide in “The Flash ” when Barry uses his superpowers to go back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempts to save his family inadvertently alter the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to. That is unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kyotpnian… albeit not the one he’s looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry’s only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?”

Over the past year, Miller was subjected to multiple legal troubles. The lead actor was arrested twice in Hawaii in March 2022 for disorderly conduct and harassment followed by second-degree assault. The charges for the assault and harassment were dropped as they pleaded no contest.

In January, Miller was once again accused in a Vermont case in which he pleaded guilty to unlawful trespassing at a home and dismissed two other criminal charges against him. The actor was also accused of choking a woman in an Icelandic bar and harassing another woman in her home in Berlin.

In August 2022, Miller released a statement saying he had “gone through a time of intense crisis.”

“The Flash” trailer is the actor’s first promotional work after numerous legal controversies and is said to have a significant role in DC as the return ahead of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new plan for the DC Universe.

Andy Muschietti, director of 2017’s “It” and its sequel, directed “The Flash”. The script was written by Christina Hodson and produced by Michael Disco and Barbara Muschietti.

DC boss James Gunn said that “The Flash” will reset the DC Universe, making way for on-screen DC stories.

“The Flash” is set to release on June 16.
