Two winners in the first leg of the 4 years old championship as Ehsaan and Padre Pio touched the line at the same time. It was the second win after one year for the Ramapatee Gujadhur’s trained horse, and the first for the other trained by Simon Jones.
The favourite, Padre Pio, was expected to deliver the goods. Apprentice Alvino Roy tried hard to hit the front at the early stages of the race. He used a lot of his horse’s energy. Padre Pio seemed to draw clear in the first part of the final straight but he plodded in the last 100m. He was able to hold on to share the win with Ehsaan.
The story is beautiful for Ehsaan. He won The Duchess Of York Cup the 27th of June 2020 and did not confirmed afterwards. Trainer Ramapatee Gujadhur did a great job with during the break to bring Ehsaan back close to his beat form. The horse runs well fresh and he proved it again as he finished strongly to catch Padre Pio on the line.
