Mauritius achieved this world record by gathering 6145 participants on the lawn of the Anjalay Stadium in Belle-Vue on Tuesday 24 January. The participants were mainly school children. Pravin Patel, Adjudicator of Guinness World Records, presented the certificate for the world record for the largest human flag to Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth.
Avinash Teeluck, Minister of Arts and Cultural Heritage was present. Mauritius broke the record of Chandigarh University in India which had 5,885 participants in August 2022. The event kicks off a series of activities to mark 55 years of Mauritius’ independence.
