The Results of the 9101 candidates of the Higher School Certificate are finally out. On this Friday, 17th September 2021, the list of the 45 laureates has been announced by the Minister of Education Mrs. Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun live from the government house around 10 am after that the Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth had sign the official list of laureates.
Especially for this time, the HSC exams took place in June this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation. Despite difficult situations like the recent flash flood, the students came out with bright colors with a success of 90% for the Republic of Mauritius.
The scholarships are divided into different categories namely; The SSR National Scholarship; The State of Mauritius Scholarship; The MCB Foundation Scholarship, the Scholarship under academic merit, and the additional Scholarship under social merit.
For this year; the two SSR National Scholarship; for the Science side Boys, was allocated to a student of The Royal College of Port-Louis and the Science side Girls, The Queen Elizabeth College.
The number of laureates for the boys’ side by the college is: the Royal College of Curepipe is 12; Royal College of Port-Louis is 3; The Mahatma Gandhi Institute of MOKA is 2; St Esprit is 1; Basdeo Bissoondoyal College is 1 and Rodrigues College 2.
The numbers of laureates for the girl side by the college are: The Queen Elizabeth College is 13 including the MCB Foundation Scholarship; Dr. Maurice Cure State College is 3; Mahatma Gandhi Institute of MOKA is 2; G.M.D Atchia State College is 1, Droopnath Ramphul State College is 1; Gaetan Raynal State College is 1 and Rodrigue College 2.
On that occasion, the Minister of Education congratulated all candidates who came out with bright colors and wished them good luck for their future. She also requested them to come back to serve their country after their studies.
