Activist of Linion Pep Morisien appears to have withdrawn from joining the Opposition forces in their general protest against the MSM government, which has been set for 12 August. He has announced that his will be on 21 August.
Following a meeting with Sherry Singh on 01 August, Bruneau Laurette, who is on political leave to provide security for Sherry Singh, was well on his way of postponing his 07 August protest to join a common force. Sherry Singh’s aim was to rally all opponents of the government to raise their voices in unison on a common date in the streets of the Capital for greater impact.
The Opposition wants to keep its general protest for 12 August. It appears that following the activist’s public outbursts against the Opposition, there are areas of disagreement between the two camps. On the other hand, the activist has made it clear that “I will not follow them. My fight is, above all, national. The PTr will hold its demonstration on 12 August. I will do mine on 21 August in a national and civic spirit. I am already warning Pravind Jugnauth, we will do what has to be done“, he said, inviting the general population to rally behind him against the PM.
