Bibi and Lararaudeuse qualifies. Jérémie Lararaudeuse suffered a fall in the final of the 110 m hurdles and was unfortunately unable to finish his race. Jérémie Lararaudeuse was in second place before his fall at the eighth hurdle.
Senegalese François Mendy (13.38 secs) won the gold medal. Saguiru Badamassi of Nigeria (13.67 secs) and Richard Diawara of Mali (13.69 secs) took silver and bronze respectively. The national record held by Lararaudeuse was 13.65 secs.
Noa Bibi was just off the podium with a time of 10.33 secs.
Cameroon’s Emmanuel Eseme (10.04 secs) won the 100m final. Senegalese Mamadou Sarr (10.17 secs) and Ivorian Arthur Cissé (10.24 secs) completed the podium.
A second gold medal for Mauritius at the Games of La Francophonie in the Democratic Republic of Congo. After Jean-Ian Carré’s victory in the hammer throw, it was the tandem of Andora Asaun and Loïc Bhugeerathee who took the top step with a performance of 13.45 seconds.
Maurice won a total of three medals (2 gold and 1 silver)
Christopher Sophie won the silver medal in the men’s disc throw at the Games of La Francophonie in the Democratic Republic of Congo with a performance of 59m78. In doing so, he improved on his own national record of 55m88.
Romanian Alexandru Firfirica (64m39) won the gold medal
Mauritius’s medal haul at these Games is likely to grow with Noa Bibi (100m), Jérémie Lararaudeuse (110m hurdles) and Anndora Asaun – Loic Bhugeerathee (100m – T11) reaching the final.
