Young filmmakers to your cameras. Applications for the 7th edition of the Film Inter-college competition are open. You have until March 27 to register.
The announcement was made by Avinash Teeluck – Minister of Arts and Cultural Heritage, on March 14 in the presence of Vikram Jootun, Director of the Maurititus Film Development Corporation.
This year, the theme chosen is Larmoni dan nou Repiblik. Colleges wishing to participate have until March 27, 2023 to register with the MFDC. Registration can be done by following this link: www.mauritiusfilm.mu. The deadline for submitting films has been set for June 23, 2023.
Films submitted must be a docu-drama not exceeding 13 minutes. Participants may make the films in any of the languages spoken in Mauritius. The winners will be announced after the public vote and the deliberation of the jury. Several prizes including cheques and trophies are to be won.
Moreover, the award ceremony for the 6 editions took place on March 16. The prize for the best film went to Dunputh Lallah SSS. St Aubin SSS won the award for best educational film.
The award for best actor in the 15+ category went to St Mary’s West College. Dr. Maurice Curé College won the award for best actress.
