The External Affairs Minister of India, Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, paid tribute, this afternoon, to late Sir Anerood Jugnauth (SAJ) and late Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam (SSR) during in a wreath laying ceremony held at their respective samadhis at the SSR Botanical Garden in Pamplemousses.
The Minister of Agro-Industry and Food Security, Mr Mahen Kumar Seeruttun; the Minister of Labour, Human Resource Development and Training, Mr Soodesh Satkam Callichurn; the Minister of Blue Economy, Marine Resources, Fisheries and Shipping, Mr Sudheer Maudhoo; the Minister of Arts and Cultural Heritage, Mr Avinash Teeluck; Members of Parliament; the High Commissioner of India to Mauritius, Mrs K. Nandini Singla; and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
The Indian External Affairs Minister moreover proceeded with the signing of the visitor’s book following the wreath laying ceremony.
It is recalled that Dr Jaishankar is on an Official visit to Mauritius from 16 July to 17 July. He last visited Mauritius in 2021 for the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation and Partnership Agreement as well as various Memoranda of Understanding/Agreements.
