Pilgrims performing the Hajj 2022 pilgrimage will be exempted from paying local airport taxes, namely the terminal extension fee and the passenger solidarity fee in addition to the passenger service fee and the passenger fee. This decision was taken by the Council of Ministers on Friday, June 10.
The government noted that a Hajj Mission headed by MA Sairally, president of the Islamic Cultural Center, has been formed. The objectives of the Hajj Mission are mainly to supervise, in close collaboration with Ambassador S. Soodhun, the Hajj operations in Saudi Arabia and to ensure that the Mauritian pilgrims perform the Hajj pilgrimage in the best conditions.
The “Hajj Mission” which was initiated by Abdool Samad, Head of the Islamic Cultural Centre, in collaboration with Showkutally Soodhun, Ambassador of Mauritius to Saudi Arabia, is to ensure that the pilgrimage takes place in the best possible conditions for Mauritian pilgrims.
