Xavier Luc Duval faced the press yesterday. He said that he “is surprised by the lies” concerning him from his former allies. He said he didn’t want to do the same though he may have a lot to say also. ‘This is not right. However, I am not surprised this is done by Paul Bérenger but from Navin Ramgoolam yes,” he explained. This shows, he added, that they were not sincere towards him and the PMSD. He recalled what happened in 2014 where he was in government with the Labour Party and Dr Ramgoolam was negotiating with the MMM. “Moreover, I do not even have coffers,” he said. Xavier Luc Duval also said that he has various options, including an agreement with extraparliamentary parties. He insisted there is no negotiation with the MSM.
On May 5, the PMSD will organise an open day at the house of late Sir Gaetan Duval in Grand Gaube. Xavier Duval invite all Maurician to come and to selebrate the death of Sir Gaetan…there will be lots of activities for the family on this day.
For Xavier Duval, the aim of the next government is to embark on a vast program of reform, to stop the exodus of Mauritians and to make living in Mauritius a pleasure. We need to re-establish the value of the rupee and restore Mauritians’ purchasing power. He also spoke of the independence of institutions, believing that a select committee should approve appointments to public and para public institutions.
