In the age of cover songs, Reena Siraz has chosen to do the same, but in a completely different register. Her passion is to put her own spin on devotional songs. Meeting.
She has always loved to sing. When she grew up, she gave her voice in temples: “I started to sing religious songs when I was going to religious ceremonies. I quickly took a liking to it and I started to take it seriously,” explains this resident of Quartier Militaire.
And by seriously she means that she started to cover the devotional songs that already exist. But not just any song: “Before I cover a song, I spend time studying the lyrics so that I can touch more hearts with it. In the stressful world we live in, it’s always good to sit back and listen to songs that soothe the spirit.”
After Achyutam Keshavam Krishna Damodaram – a song released on YouTube a month ago, Reena will release her 4th single, “The next song will be released next week on the occasion of durga puja. The song will come to pay fervent homage to Goddess Durga.”
