A case of accident involving a Hyundai car driven by a policeman was reported this Friday, December 23, at the police station in Curepipe. The car got stuck on the rail of the subway in Rivière-Sèche, Curepipe near the Subway around 5:45 am. The 40 year old police officer, assigned to the Phoenix Police Station, stated that he had taken this route by mistake. He was given a breathalyzer test which came back positive. He had forty-nine micrograms of alcohol in his breath.
Immediately alerted to this accident, police sergeant Hurrynag with a team quickly went to the scene. He was to find a blue Hyundai car stuck on the subway track. The driver, a police officer and resident of Clairfonds No. 1, Phoenix, was to tell him that he had missed the road and that it was by mistake that he was stuck on the subway track with the radiator facing the subway station.
The officer’s car was damaged. He was taken to the police station in Curepipe to give his statement. The officer was given a breathalyzer test. The test was positive. He had forty-nine micrograms of alcohol in his breath.
