In tests this Friday morning, Dr Ramgoolam tested negative for Covid. He is therefore safe from the virus and in better condition. He was admitted to a separate room at the All Indian Institute Medical Sciences and was able to resume a more normal diet. He is out of bed and moving around with no apparent difficulty. He is recovering and showing encouraging signs of improvement for the medical team. On the Ramgoolam Gen – Next page on Facebook, there is also posted a heartfelt message of thanks to the medical team for their care but more importantly to all those who pray and wish good for him.
Wreath-laying ceremony this Saturday 18 September at the samadhi of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam
While Labour Party (PTr) leader Navin Ramgoolam is being treated in India, how is the party doing? It is a trio composed of Patrick Assirvaden as president, Arvin Boolell, as leader of the parliamentarians, and Shakeel Mohamed, one of the elders of the party, which coordinates the activities of the PTr, pending the return of the leader. This is what Shakeel Mohamed told us.
Shakeel Mohamed maintains that apart from the wreath-laying ceremony to be held on Saturday 18 September at the samadhi of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam on the occasion of the anniversary of his birth, there are no major activities planned after. “Arvin Boolell, always accompanied by other parliamentarians, will lead the press conferences.”
