The deadline for SIM card re-registration has been extended to May 13 by court order. The case was called before the Supreme Court this Monday, April 15, 2024. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Rehana Mungly-Gulbul Rehana Mungly-Gulbul ruled in favor of the application to freeze the regulations on the re-registration of SIM cards on Pazhany Rangasamy’s application for a stay of execution The main case has been formatted and debates will begin shortly.
Attorney Rangasamy points out that any attempt by the authorities and telephone operators to induce subscribers to have their SIM cards re-registered before May 13 will constitute a “contempt of court.”
