The start of the 41st Tour of Mauritius was given this Tuesday in the north of the island with a long stage of 127.2 kms which saw the victory of the French Maxime Jolly, guest of Faucon Flacq SC-KFC.
Starting in a group of eight riders who escaped at the beginning of the climb of Pont Bondieu, Maxime Jolly settled his companions in a sprint in the time of 3h 02 mins 39 secs and he takes the yellow jersey.
The best riders of the MCB Maurice Team are not far from the yellow jersey and have gained precious points in the classification of the different jerseys.
Chritopher Lagane won the polka dot jersey of the best climber. Aurélien de Comarmond took the white jersey of the best young rider while Alexandre Mayer will start the second stage with the orange jersey of the best regional rider.
The second stage takes place this Wednesday. The start is scheduled for 11am at the Belle rive traffic circle and the finish will be judged at the Côte d’Or sports complex.
