CP’s Constitutional Complaint Against DPP Heard On Merits On May 28

Must Read

The matter was called before Chief Justice Rehana Mungly Gulbul, Senior Puisne Judge Nirmala Devat and Justice Sulakshna Beekarry-Sunassee this morning. In the absence of any objection from the other parties concerned, the President of the Republic has been exonerated from the case. The case will also have to be amended to take account of the fact that ICAC has now been subsumed into the Financial Crimes Commission. Once this has been done, the updated documents must be filed in court on 20 May. The Chief Justice has also ordered those written submissions be made in advance, on 23 May. The case will be heard on its merits on 28 May 2024.
