While an increase in the number of admissions has been noted over the last few days with around 20 admissions per day, the number of positive cases has considerably dropped on Thursday 20th January with 40 positive cases.
This drop represents more than 50%, as compared to Wednesday’s figure of 88 cases. The total number of admissions is 20, including 3 at the New ENT Hospital and 17 in the regional hospitals combined, which have 20 patients cured and released as of today.
Vaccination campaign remains on track with a total of 962,711 people vaccinated with the first dose, 925,277 people vaccinated with the second dose and 273,924 people vaccinated with the third/booster dose.
Those aged between 18 and 39 years, concerned by the Booster dose, will very soon receive the vaccine Moderna also. The country will soon receive a shipment of 200,000 doses of this American vaccine from France. Moderna and Pfizer will be the only two vaccines used in the booster dose, with their effectiveness in the Mix Vaccine considered as equal and better than all the other vaccines.
The Pfizer campaign is also on the rise among adolescents aged 12 to 17. Today, 54,839 have received their first dose and 42,509 both doses.
