From 79 cases on Wednesday 23rd March to 168 cases on Thursday 24th March, the positivity rate is on the rise in Mauritius. The same goes for admissions which rose from 37 to 46 in the regional hospitals. In Rodrigues, the rate is 22 new cases for 24th March. These are positive cases identified on 235 PCR tests performed. The tenth district currently has 176 active cases.
Vaccination is progressing in both islands. In Mauritius, 1,003,667 people have already received the first dose, 968,781 people the second dose and 580,264 people the third/booster dose. In Rodrigues, 32,139 people, i.e. 72.68% of the population, have received the first dose, 31,542 people, i.e. 71.33% the second dose and 11,701 people the third/booster dose.
