After having collected five gold medals during the third day in athletics played at the Côte d’Or stadium, Reunion Island now has twelve medals against nine in Mauritius.
Reunion’s harvest started in the boys’ high jump with the victory of Benjamin Belgrade who cleared the bar at 1m89. Then in the women’s long jump, Manon Lopez was the only one to pass the 5m mark with a leap of 5m36. Her twin sister, Alicia Lopez won the 100m hurdles. Noah Hullen, author of a throw of 14m69 in the shot put, took the gold medal in front of the Mauritian Shane Perumal while Fadi Tovagliaro with a time of 14.56 seconds concluded the beautiful day of his family.
The Seychellois Dinara Bonne easily won the long jump with a performance of 2m59.
Dylan Faron was the only Mauritian gold medalist with a jump of 4m12 in the long jump T37 physical.
